Name of Piece: "Dharma Text"
This piece is a thick heart shape clay shard of excavated pottery from a tidal cove in Islesboro, Maine. The pottery is at least 19th century if not earlier. The glaze color is a rich leaf green with tones of beige or taupe. The shape is striking. The wire wrap is a geometric square spiral. The copper wire wrap is the artist's work with a signature spiral dangle.
